The SRAM X5 rear derailleur with a long cage is the robust choice for mountain bikes and trekking bikes with a 9-speed drivetrain. Whether it's a classic 3x9 setup or a converted 1x/2x system – the X5 ensures clean gear changes and stable chain running in everyday use as well as on tour.
Thanks to EXACT ACTUATION™, the derailleur operates precisely and consistently across the entire cassette. The Direct Route™ cable routing guides the cable directly into the derailleur, reducing the shifting forces required – ideal if you want to shift smoothly even with gloves or in bad weather.
The long cage is designed for wide gear ratios and supports cassettes with a largest sprocket of up to 36 teeth. The combination of aluminum pivots and a durable composite derailleur body makes the X5 long-lasting and suitable for everyday use without adding unnecessary weight to the system.
