The translucent finish allows the natural grain and character of the timber to show through while forming a durable surface film that resists cracking, peeling, and flaking. UV, Mould, and Water Resistance: The dry film is protected by active biocides that guard against blue stain, mould, and fungi. The formulation also repels water and blocks harmful UV rays, making it well suited to exposed exterior surfaces such as windows, doors, shutters, eaves, and cladding. Coverage and Application: One 2.5L tin covers approximately 25-37.5 m² across two to three coats, applied by brush, dipping, or airless spraying. The stain is touch dry in 4-6 hours and recoatable after 16 hours at 23°C and 60% relative humidity. Do not apply at temperatures below 5°C or above 80% relative humidity. Surface Preparation: Remove all dirt, algae, mould, and loose material before application. Bare softwood must be primed with Bondex Preserve prior to use.
