The Kali Audio IN-8 WH V2 is a three-way active studio monitor, equipped 8” woofer and coaxially installed 4” midrange and 1” tweeter. The unique positioning of the midrange and tweeter drivers eliminates phase shifts and mutual interference and off-axis sound reflections, creating incredibly accurate and realistic stereo image. The stereo image, coupled with sonic clarity, makes it extremely easy to build a complete and detailed picture of your mix. Every aspect of it is presented with clarity and accuracy, allowing you to fine-tune your sound.

The new version of IN-8 is part of the second generation of Kali products. The new amplifier platform allows the self-noise to be reduced by 12 dB, while increasing the maximum SPL by 3 dB. For a softer response in the high frequency range, the calibration files were analyzed and refined. Equalizer settings have also been updated to reflect common monitor settings. Physical improvements include the use of lighter driver diaphragms for better transient response and an improved housing construction for improved durability.   Due to the coaxial placement of the midrange and tweeter drivers and the setting of the crossover point between the driver low and midrange at 330Hz, the IN-8 monitor is an acoustic point source. This gives the ideal directional pattern for a studio monitor. user will able to hear a very realistic stereo image, with details placed clearly and coherently. All of the off-axis audio issues that are inevitable with 2-way monitors are virtually eliminated with the IN-8.

Much work has gone into optimizing the midrange driver, not only for its own acoustic performance, but also for its role as a waveguide for the tweeter. Its shape is very precise, allowing for controlled directionality around the crossover point between the midrange and tweeter, ensuring accurate summing both on and off axis. The diaphragm excursion of the midrange driver has been limited to less than 1mm (peak to peak), so that vibrations of the midrange driver do not have a negative effect on the operation of the tweeter.   The IN-8 also takes full advantage of Kali's Lone Pine monitors: optimized woofer design for clear and powerful bass, improved front bass port and our EQs with limit compensation.
