Gaviscon Peppermint Chewable Tablets form a protective layer that floats above the contents of the stomach. This layer prevents stomach acid from escaping into the food pipe, relieving the burning feeling of heartburn and discomfort in the throat and mouth. Heartburn can occur after meals, especially when eating fatty or spicy food, or during pregnancy. It can also be a symptom of an inflammation in the food pipe, causing difficulty and/or painful swallowing, mouth sores, or vomiting. Gaviscon Peppermint Tablets are used to treat symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux, such as acid regurgitation, heartburn, and indigestion, which can occur after meals or during pregnancy, and in patients with oesophagitis.
