One of the most innovative features of the SRI-2 is speaker switching (AB). The interface features up to 4 TRS outputs – two sets for two pairs of studio monitors. With the SRI-2, you can instantly switch the signal between two pairs of monitors and evaluate how your mix sounds on equipment of different sizes and configurations – an invaluable feature during mixing. The SUM button is another practical innovation. In normal mode, input signal 1 goes to the left monitor output, and input signal 2 goes to the right. When the SUM function is activated, both input signals are summed and centered, creating a mono output to the monitors. This is particularly useful during live recording – for example, when a microphone is connected to input 1 and a guitar to input 2. Note that the SUM function applies only to the main monitor outputs on the rear of the device, not to signals transmitted via USB. The large aluminum volume knob ensures precise and comfortable control of the output level, while direct monitoring eliminates latency during recording.
