Liberty Fabrics Liberty Fabrics African Marigold Scroll Tana Lawn Cotton | Red | New In | First printed for liberty in 1984, african marigold scroll takes inspiration from william morris' celebrated african marigold, originally created in 1876 as one of his earliest designs for fabric. Redrawn and recoloured in the liberty studio, this interpretation simplifies morris' original, introducing greater structure with an almost tile-like quality. Large, stylised lilies take centre stage among swirling scrolls of decorative acanthus leaves, while tiny marigold blooms appear as delicate botanical accents. Fine linework, subtle shading and graceful movement bring definition to the pattern, balancing its bold, stylised forms with intricate details. Our tana lawn cotton is a fabric built by obsession, perfected into a modern masterpiece of production through a bespoke process that has evolved over a century. Printed in our own liberty printing mill in northern italy, tana realises unma For our Fabric Size Guide, click here.
