These tubes belong to the rare "NOS" (New Old Stock) category — unused and preserved from historic production batches. They represent the pinnacle of EL-34 tone, construction, and heritage. If you're searching for the ultimate sound in a tube amp, this may be your last chance to own a genuine, vintage-era EL-34 of legendary status.
Key Features Model: EL-34 STR-450 – premium-grade EL-34 power tube Origin: Germany – manufactured by Siemens (NOS, Class A) Selected and tested by Mesa/Boogie Matched pair – ideal for stereo tube amps or push-pull power sections Legendary “bell-tone” sound – extremely clear highs, tight lows, and musical sustain Authentic NOS stock – no longer in production, extremely limited availability Why these tubes stand out These EL-34 tubes are known for their unmatched clarity and sensitivity. Musicians describe the sound as “bell-like” — meaning each note rings out with roundness, purity, and beautiful top-end sparkle. Combined with excellent articulation, tight response, and long sustain, these tubes elevate the character of any amp they’re placed in. They’re ideal for players who demand musical nuance and dynamic control.
Who are they for? If you’re a guitarist, tone purist, amp builder, or vintage gear collector, this matched pair is a high-value investment. It’s especially recommended for: High-end boutique amp owners who want to upgrade tone quality Vintage amp restorers seeking authentic era-correct parts Guitarists playing blues, classic rock, or expressive styles that require articulate dynamic response Audiophiles and recording engineers demanding the best possible tube sound Construction & Quality Manufactured in Germany using advanced 20th-century engineering, these Siemens EL-34s feature precision internal design, strong materials, and strict factory tolerances. Their robustness ensures consistent performance, low noise, and minimal microphonics. This is a Class A NOS tube pair — factory fresh despite their age, having never been used in an amplifier before.
Compatibility The STR-450 matched pair is compatible with most EL-34-based tube amps. Before installation, always verify that your amplifier supports EL-34 tubes and that plate voltages and bias requirements are within the safe operating range. Some high-voltage designs may exceed optimal values for NOS tubes, so consult your amp tech if unsure.
Mounting Tips – Always install tubes in matched pairs if your amp uses two or more EL-34s. – Allow a warm-up period after installation — NOS tubes often benefit from a “break-in” time. – Avoid excessive plate voltage or poor ventilation, especially in high-powered rigs.
Why NOS? “New Old Stock” means these tubes were manufactured decades ago and kept in unused condition. They reflect manufacturing techniques that are no longer practiced today. As a result, they’re sought after by tone chasers, collectors, and pro musicians alike. Once gone, they won’t return — this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire a rare piece of tube tone history.
Summary Mesa/Boogie NOS Siemens EL-34 STR-450 is more than a power tube — it’s a sonic upgrade, a historical artifact, and a critical tool for shaping pure, expressive tube tone. Matched, tested, and selected by Mesa, this pair delivers legendary clarity, warmth, and dynamic range. Don’t miss the chance to own one of the last truly authentic NOS EL-34 sets on the market.
