Douglas Methylated Spirits is a denatured spirit that can be used as a cleaner for paintwork, glassware, and for wiping resinous matter from knots prior to applying Douglas Patent Knotting. It can also be used as a fuel for heating or cooking, giving a clean flame. The spirit is mixed with a small quantity of methanol to make it unfit for human consumption and is dyed purple. It comes in a 500ml size.
