GameplayHalloween: The Game combines asymmetrical multiplayer, stealth, exploration, combat, and survival objectives. In 1v4 matches, Michael Myers hunts residents and playable Civilians while using darkness and stalking abilities to approach targets without being detected. Killer Sense helps locate potential victims, while Shape Jump allows Michael to move through environments unseen when conditions permit.
Heroes of Haddonfield have a very different objective. Players search neighborhoods for residents, convince them of the danger, contact the police, gather useful equipment, and guide people toward possible escape routes. Containers can provide weapons, distractions, and key items, while the locations of important objects and escapes can change between matches.
NPC residents also influence each session. They may flee, resist Michael, call for help, or follow Civilian commands. As the threat becomes more obvious, police patrols and community resistance can increase, creating additional pressure for Michael and new tactical opportunities for the Heroes.
StoryThe game returns to Haddonfield on Halloween night in 1978, when Michael Myers comes home and begins terrorizing the town. Alongside multiplayer matches that let players create their own version of this deadly night, Halloween: The Game includes a standalone single-player narrative centered on Michael Myers.
The story mode reimagines key events surrounding “The Night He Came Home” from Michael's perspective. Players can explore familiar locations inspired by the original 1978 film, including the Myers House and other parts of Haddonfield, while progressing through a cinematic horror experience built around exploration and replayability.
GraphicsHalloween: The Game uses Unreal Engine 5 to recreate the look and atmosphere of late-1970s Haddonfield. Its suburban streets, homes, interiors, period decoration, lighting, and environmental details are designed to reflect the visual identity and unsettling tone of the original Halloween film.
Dynamic lighting and darkness are also part of the gameplay. Michael can take advantage of shadows, interfere with sources of light, and trigger situations that make areas of the map more dangerous. Detailed environments, realistic NPC behavior, cinematic lighting, and adaptive audio reinforce the game's slasher-horror atmosphere.
