Islay Blended Malt 2009 / 16 Year Old / Whisky Trail Islay Whisky

70cl / 58.9% / Elixir Distillers - This 16-year-old from the independent bottler Elixir Distillers is a blend of two Islay malts from an earlier project that impressed the team so much that they set this aside to mature a further three years in oloroso butts to develop even further. Hefty peat smoke, barbecued mackerel and smoky bacon meet lemons, fresh dates, marshmallow, dried fruit and milk chocolate.
