Pibil Cooking Paste is a ready-made marinade made from Achiote from Lol-Tun and is mainly used to make the dish Cochinita Pibil. The pork is rubbed with the Pibil Cooking Paste and marinated for a few hours to a day. This process makes the meat tender, after which the meat is wrapped in banana leaves and slowly cooked in a sauce made of orange juice. Depending on the type of meat, the cooking time is 2-3 hours or more. With the Pibil Cooking Paste, the meat takes on a beautiful red color, which is typical for the dish that comes from the state of Yucatan.
