Bonnie Montgomery, under her detective alias Montgomery Bonbon, receives an invitation to Adderstone Manor from Fergus Croke, a former master thief who has lost his cherished diamond. Croke, believing one of his four former apprentices to be behind the theft, leaves Bonbon to puzzle out the truth amidst a group of seasoned criminals. The mystery grows more perplexing when Croke’s trustworthy butler is discovered dead on the premises. As Bonbon delves deeper, she unravels concealed identities, uncovers a multitude of motives, and encounters an unexpected hedge maze filled with monkeys. With the help of Dana and Grampa Banks, Bonbon strives to locate the missing gem and unmask both the thief and the murderer—could they possibly be the same person?
