Each summer, Isabel visits her family friends' home, enjoying the nighttime swimming pool, a secluded sandy beach, and the company of two boys. There's Conrad, distant and elusive, with whom she's long been infatuated, and Jeremiah, warm and easygoing, the only one to have truly noticed her.
