Opis
Epictetus, who rose from the constraints of slavery to become a pivotal figure in philosophical thought, profoundly impacted his era. His insights are preserved in a compilation titled *Discourses and Selected Writings*, which consists of informal lectures he delivered around AD 108. These works not only offer a glimpse into the life and intellect of this renowned Stoic philosopher but also serve as a significant showcase of Koine Greek, a precursor to what we now know as Standard Modern Greek.
