"A lively world full of aristocratic antics and absurdities typical of public schools," describes Greg James, the host of BBC Radio 1 Breakfast. Poor Pongo Twistleton only has to deal with the spirited presence of his seventy-year-old Uncle Fred during lunch once a year. But when Uncle Fred arrives from Ickenham, being the fifth Earl and all, he brings a plan that is sure to make Pongo's hair stand on end. This plan also involves rekindling Pongo's relationship with his long-lost fiancée, Sally Painter. Meanwhile, Pongo is occupied trying to impress his future father-in-law, Sir Aylmer Bostock, as he is engaged to Hermione Bostock. Uncle Fred, ever the schemer, requests Pongo to destroy a priceless bust and substitute it with one depicting Sally—a plan that seems destined to fail. As Major Brabazon-Plank and the incognito Uncle Fred enter the scene, Pongo faces his worst fears. The burning question remains: Will Uncle Fred successfully see his plan through? Will Pongo end up marrying the right woman? And can a pot of raspberry jam ever really be safe from intruders clad in pink suits?
